Collagen P.I.N. Micro-needling

What is the Collagen P.I.N.?

Collagen P.I.N. is the newest generation of micro-needling. Collagen P.I.N is adjustable from .5mm to a full 3mm in depth. This allows us to customize the treatment to your individual skin needs, while fine-tuning the variable speed for a smooth treatment on all skin types and areas.

P.I.N stands for "percutaneous induction needling." It is a technique that uses controlled injury to the skin to stimulate repair and regenerate new collagen and elastin. The needles create small puncture wounds into the dermis, which are repaired with new skin cells or, when used for hair restoration, regenerated hair follicles. Additional healing and corrective agents are often incorporated into the treatment through the channels made by the micro-needling.

How is Collagen P.I.N. different from roller micro-needling?

Accessing the dermis with the Collagen P.I.N. creates a thicker dermis, which results in smoother skin with softer lines and a more even texture. Alternatively, a roller makes horizontal punctures into the skin and has a fixed depth and can not be adjusted to penetrate variable skin depths to reach the dermis.

How is Collagen P.I.N. different from laser?

While the laser uses heat to vaporize the skin, Collagen P.I.N, uses needles to mechanically produce mirco-channels into the dermis. Because the there is no additional damage from heat, the healing time is faster and carries fewer risks for complications. And, unlike laser which is not indicated for darker skin types, Collagen P.I.N is safe for all skin types.

Can Collagen P.I.N. be used on the body?

Yes. Collagen P.I.N. penetrates to a depth of 3mm and has an adjustable speed, which allows it to glide over even thicker skin without the needles "dragging." It can be used for smoothing and reducing stretch marks and body scars. It is also indicated for repairing photo damaged skin in areas like the arms and hands and loose skin on the abdomen.

Can Collagen P.I.N. be used for hair regeneration?

Yes.  PRP and micro-needling are effective in hair regeneration for both men and women. PRP is micro-needled into the scalp. The advantage to PRP over medication is that the hair follicles can be regenerated resulting in new hair growth with thicker hair shafts and a higher hair count.

What is PRP?

PRP is your own blood spun down to isolate the healing and growth factors and is directly applied to an area as part of the micro-needling treatment. PRP promotes an even, more rapid healing and cell regeneration. It is particularly indicated with hair regrowth, scar and stretch mark treatments, but can take any treatment to the next level.

How many treatments will I need?

It depends of your goals and your skin or hair restoration needs. For some people one treatment will address their concerns, however, most people need to repeat the treatment to achieve their rejuvenation goals. For optimal and longer lasting results, 3 to 6 treatments are usually recommended with an annual maintenance treatment.

How will my skin look after my treatment?

Following a treatment, your skin will feel similar to how it feels when sunburned. It will be reddish in color, feel warm and can have mild swelling. In most cases, the redness and swelling disappears in 12 to 24 hours. It is safe to resume your normal activities the following day. The skin care kit that we provide has a cleanser, skin serum, moisturizer and tinted sunscreen. The sunscreen is a beautiful coverup and protection for skin, or we can direct you to which makeup is appropriate to wear.
